Our Commitment at New York Psychological Practice

At New York Psychological Practice, we aim to provide a secure and supportive environment where clients can navigate their challenges with empathy, care, and trust. We have extensive experience working with children and families facing various issues. We aim to create a comfortable and safe space for you and/or your child to explore your challenges through counseling and evaluation services. By understanding and addressing the root causes of your symptoms, we can work together towards alleviating them.

We offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client’s unique needs, helping them achieve the personal growth they are striving for. Whether you seek support for yourself, your child, or your entire family, we are committed to guiding you toward mental and emotional well-being.

Taking the First Step

We understand that your problem begins with seeking help. Sometimes, it may only require a single consultation. Other times, you might need a psychological evaluation or ongoing therapy. Regardless of what is needed, you've already taken the initial step toward finding answers and solutions to your current issue.

Our dynamic team of clinicians specialize in multiple evidence-based practices. Our team is led by the Clinical Director, Dr. Virginia Boga, Ph.D. Virginia Boga is a Clinical Psychologist who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Long Island University, specializing in psychodynamic theory. As a psychodynamic therapist, Dr. Boga's goal is to help you understand yourself and the family dynamics that have contributed to your current symptoms. Psychodynamic therapy emphasizes the interpersonal relationship between the client and therapist. This relationship is crucial because it provides a safe environment for clients to open up and explore various thoughts and feelings.

While psychodynamic therapy is one of our major specializations, we recognize that not all problems stem from family dynamics. Genetics and other factors can also play significant roles. Therefore, our primary role as clinicians is to listen to your entire story, understand what is happening, and develop an appropriate treatment plan—whether short-term or long-term.

A consultation will give you a better understanding of the next steps. We will work together to formulate a treatment plan that best suits you or your child if therapy is needed. We can provide a comprehensive psychological assessment and report if a psychological evaluation is required—whether for school, Medicaid waiver, court purposes, or personal understanding. We look forward to working with you and/or your family to achieve your goals.
